Gili Islands Tours & Tickets

Gili Islands Tours & Tickets

Forty-five real, bookable GetYourGuide experiences and transfers across the Gilis, Lombok and the routes from Bali — ranked, explained and grouped by destination.

The Gilis are an easy place to do nothing, and an equally easy place to fill a week. Most of what is worth booking falls into a few groups: snorkelling boats to the turtles and the Gili Meno statues; diving, from a first try-dive to full courses; classes in cooking and silver-work; boat tickets to and from Bali; and, on the Lombok mainland, Rinjani treks, waterfall days and the Secret Gilis.

We read GetYourGuide’s partner feed in October 2026 and chose products for relevance and for the number and quality of their reviews. Where a listing is new and unreviewed, we say so. Prices are the “from” prices shown then, in euros, and will differ with date and options. We have left out horse-riding and horse-cart products; our reasons are in the getting around guide.

Booking fast boats and transfers

Boat tickets are the one thing almost every visitor has to buy, and the one that causes most confusion. A few plain rules:

  • Match the harbour to your hotel. Padang Bai has the shortest crossing but is 1.5–2 hours from south Bali. Serangan and Sanur are close to the resorts but mean more time at sea.
  • Check the island. Not every boat stops at every Gili. Gili Meno in particular is often reached by a small transfer boat from Trawangan.
  • Morning is smoother. Book the earliest sailing you can reach.
  • Leave a buffer before any flight: one day in the dry season, two from December to February.
  • From Lombok, a pre-booked speedboat or car-and-boat package avoids the touts at Bangsal harbour.

The tickets themselves are listed under From Bali and Senggigi & the harbours. For operators, sea conditions and fees, read fast boats & getting there.

Tours and tickets by destination

Every product we feature, under the island or area it belongs to. Each destination also has its own tours page with booking tips and live availability.

Gili Trawangan

Gili Trawangan has the widest choice of bookable activities on the islands: shared and private snorkelling boats, sunset cruises, try-dives, a catamaran day and cooking classes — most of them inexpensive.

All tours in Gili Trawangan

Gili Meno

GetYourGuide lists fewer activities that start on Gili Meno than on its neighbours — a snorkelling trip, a private boat and a cooking class — but the boats from Trawangan and Air all come here anyway.

All tours in Gili Meno

Gili Air

Gili Air’s bookable activities are small-scale and well reviewed: turtle snorkelling by shared or private boat, a try-dive, and two of the best-rated classes in the Gilis.

Senggigi & the Harbours

From the Lombok mainland you can book the Gilis as a day trip, arrange every transfer in advance, or hire a car and driver for the island’s waterfalls and villages.

All tours in Senggigi & the harbours

Mount Rinjani

Rinjani treks are sold as all-inclusive packages — guide, porters, permit, tents and food — and GetYourGuide lists a good range, from a one-day rim hike to the full three-day summit and lake circuit.

Kuta Lombok & the South

South and central Lombok are best explored with a driver or a guide: beach and village circuits, beginner surf lessons, tandem paragliding and a private-boat day to the pink beaches of the south-east.

The Secret Gilis

Organised boat days are the easiest way into the Secret Gilis: hotel pick-up, a private outrigger and three to five islands, either in the south-west or off the east coast.

From Bali

The products that matter here are tickets: fast boats from Padang Bai, Serangan, Amed and Nusa Penida to the Gilis, with or without hotel transfers.

Booking tips

  • Free cancellation applies to most listings up to 24 hours before — useful when the weather is uncertain. Check each product’s terms.
  • Shared or private? Shared snorkelling boats are cheap and can be crowded. Private boats cost more per boat, not per person, so they suit families and groups.
  • Per person or per group. Transfers are often priced per vehicle or boat. The cards say which.
  • Pick-up island. For anything titled “Gili Islands”, confirm that your island is offered as a starting point.
  • Diving. Dive centres on the islands agree their prices jointly, so online and walk-in rates are similar. Book ahead in peak season for courses.

Tours and tickets: FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What is the best tour in the Gili Islands?

A three-island snorkelling boat trip: turtles, coral and the underwater statues off Gili Meno in half a day, for very little money. Take a private boat or an early departure to avoid the crowds.

Should I book Gili tours in advance?

In July, August and over Christmas and New Year, book fast boats, private boats and classes a few days ahead. At other times a day’s notice is usually enough, and free cancellation makes early booking low-risk.

Can I see turtles without booking a tour?

Yes. Turtles are regularly seen snorkelling from shore at Turtle Point on Trawangan, off the west of Meno and along the east coast of Air. A boat simply makes it more certain and adds the statues.

Are the fast-boat tickets on GetYourGuide reliable?

They are real seats with established operators, with the platform’s cancellation terms. Reviews are lower than for tours because the crossing itself is weather-dependent; delays happen with every operator.

Can I book a Rinjani trek from the Gili Islands?

Yes. Treks start at Senaru or Sembalun, and operators normally collect from Bangsal harbour on the mainland. See Mount Rinjani tours.

Why are prices shown in euros?

That is how GetYourGuide’s partner feed supplied them when we checked. On GetYourGuide you can pay in your own currency.
