Lombok’s international airport (LOP) is near Praya in the south of the island; the west coast and the Gili harbours are a drive of one to two hours to the north. From Bali you can fly in about half an hour, take a fast boat that calls at Bangsal or Senggigi, or use the slow public car ferry from Padang Bai to Lembar.
The details of the harbour routine — where cars must stop, where the real ticket office is, what the public boat costs — are in our region guide to fast boats & getting there. Figures here are typical and should be checked locally.

Getting around Senggigi & the harbours
Taxis and apps. Metered Blue Bird taxis and ride-hailing apps work in Mataram and Senggigi. Drivers may be reluctant to collect from the harbours, where local transport cooperatives control the trade — a pre-booked car avoids the argument.
Car with driver. The normal way to tour. A full day costs little more than a couple of long taxi rides and the driver waits while you look around.
Scooter rental. Widely available in Senggigi. The coast road is beautiful but hilly, with sharp bends; ride only if you are licensed, insured and experienced, and always with a helmet.
At Bangsal. From the vehicle barrier to the quay is a flat walk of several hundred metres. Horse carts offer rides for the distance; it is not needed unless you have very heavy luggage. Ignore anyone who says the ticket office is closed, the boat is cancelled or you must buy from them.
